About Veriqo
Built by a chef, because the existing tools didn't fit
Veriqo is UK private-chef business software. It combines HACCP food-safety records, bookings, menus, job costing, quotes, invoices, payments and prep lists in one connected app — built for chefs who cook in other people's kitchens, not for restaurants with a fixed pass.
Why Veriqo exists
Private chefs run a full food business from a knife roll and a phone. You register as a food business, you're subject to HACCP and allergen law, and an Environmental Health Officer can inspect you — but you do all of it while travelling between clients' homes, yacht galleys and event kitchens with no fixed fridge, no office and very little downtime.
The tools on offer never matched that. Restaurant EPOS and compliance systems assume one building, one team and a full-time manager. Paper Safer Food, Better Business packs assume a wall to hang them on. Spreadsheets for costing assume you're at a desk. So most private chefs end up with food-safety records that are patchy, pricing that's guessed, and admin that eats the evening after a twelve-hour service.
Veriqo is the response: one app that handles the food-safety records, the quoting and the costing, works offline in a client's kitchen, and keeps everything tied to the actual job.
The entity description we use everywhere: Veriqo is UK private-chef business software combining HACCP records, bookings, menus, costing, quotes, invoices, payments and prep lists.
Where it comes from
Veriqo is made by Side Order Catering Ltd, a UK private catering business, and was designed by its founder Michael O'Gorman, MIH — a professional chef who has run private and event catering for years. Every module started as a problem in that business: the HACCP records an EHO asked to see, the quote that needed to go out before midnight, the job that looked profitable until the ingredients were totted up.
It is built and supported in the UK, for the UK market, and the food-safety content is written around Food Standards Agency guidance rather than generic third-party blogs.
How it's designed
- Mobile and offline first — log a fridge temperature or tick a prep task in a kitchen with no Wi-Fi; it syncs when you're back online.
- One shared record — a dish entered once feeds the allergen matrix, the costing and the prep list. A quote that's accepted becomes a booking.
- Honest about the rules — Veriqo ships sensible default thresholds (for example a 75°C cooking check) and is clear about where that is an operating limit versus a legal maximum. See the guides for the underlying FSA references.
- No lock-in — records and reports export as PDF and CSV whenever you want them.
